Professor Arhonditsis is the Chair of the Department of Physical & Environmental Sciences, University of Toronto. Since its original establishment in 2005, he is the Director of the Ecological Modelling Laboratory, which has become the host of an internationally leading research program in the field of environmental modelling. His research has been used to guide the policy making process and address environmental problems related to eutrophication, fisheries, invasive species, species at risk, implementation of best management practices in a watershed context, or even prognostic tools for extreme meteorological events. Professor Arhonditsis is also the Co Editor-in-Chief of the journal Ecological Informatics.
