About the Program
The objective of this six days of training is to provide inputs to members of IT cells, systems administrators and technical systems manpower in organisations to manage the Ubuntu Linux server. The training meets the requirement starting from the basic to intermediate level. The basic and intermediate level training are being conducted separately. The basic level will be suitable to fresh graduates also preferably with some exposure to Linux. Participants can join both the levels or any one of the levels based on their present skills levels. The maximum number of participants will be 20 and registration will be on a first come first serve basis.
Ubuntu System Administration – First Level
The 3-day first level training course will cover the basics you need to know to install and maintain an Ubuntu Server system. Starting with the installation of an Ubuntu Server, the training will cover the basic concepts of the Linux file system, command line interface, user management, etc. The participant will also learn the fundamentals of system initialization, process and software management, storage, networking, and system monitoring.
Prerequisites:
Beginner with very basic understanding of Linux/Unix.

Ubuntu System Administration – Second Level
The 3-day second level training course will cover the installation and configuration of services like Apache, Apache Tomcat, MySQL server, FTP, SSH, NFS, Samba etc. in an Ubuntu server. The participant will also learn about Server security, troubleshooting and Backups.
Prerequisites:
Those who completed the basic level course held in March 2020 or those who are quite familiar with Ubuntu basics and running basic commands.
