Cisco thingQbator – Inauguration
Cisco thingQbator is a network of makerspaces where students can learn about digital technologies in a hands-on environment, turn their ideas into working prototypes and in the process come up with local solutions to local problems. The thingQbator program is structured to encourage a rapid prototyping mindset with ease of access to the makerspace and all the equipment therein as well as active mentorship and training.
In India, Cisco will set up five thingQbator makerspaces as a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility commitments in 2018 through their partner – NASSCOM Foundation and we are proud to be selected as one among them.
The makerspace in IIITMK campus was inaugurated on 21 Sep 2018 by Shri Sivasankar IAS Secretary, Dept of Electronics & IT. Govt of Kerala in the presence of Shri Harish Krishnan, Managing Director, Public Affairs & Strategic Engagements, Cisco India and SAARC. Shri Santhosh Abraham, VP NASSCOM Foundation, Shri Prasad Balakrishnan, CEO of Maker Village and leaders from various industries, professors, academicians, young startups and makers from the student communities were present in this occasion.
