The future global workforce is readying for a massive shift heralding the “fourth industrial revolution.” According to a World Economic Forum report, in the coming future, nearly a third of the most important skill sets will be comprised of skills not yet identified as crucial to the job today. Seven among the top ten technologies that will transform the future global economy are supported by image processing and all of the top ten are supported by machine learning. Fields such as medicine, video production, photography, remote sensing, robotics, security monitoring which have been traditionally used analog imaging are now upgraded to digital systems for their credibility and affordability. Most of the techniques require a blending of the areas of image processing and machine learning.

The aim of this workshop is to enrich the researchers with new ideas in the field of image processing and machine learning, to equip them for new innovations in future technologies. Eminent faculty members across the country are leading this three-day national workshop organized by the Center for Pattern and Image Analysis (CEPIA) division of the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management- Kerala. The workshop  would also provide an in-depth exposure into new trends in the industry, research and innovations.
