IIITM-K:
Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management-Kerala (IIITM-K) was established in the year 2000 by the Government of Kerala as an autonomous educational institution in Science, Technology and Management. The institute offers a Postgraduate programme in Information Technology for Engineering graduates, MCA and M.Sc. (Computer Science /IT/Applied Electronics). Rightly located in the rich and lush campus of Technopark, India's most potentially enabled Technology Park, IIITM-K has redefined the standards of higher education in India. Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure in networks, systems and high-end connectivity, the institute is establishing itself as a versatile institute balanced between core academic programs and activities, R&D in the areas of information systems, ICT, computational sciences, informatics applications and services in several areas and now has the potential to make a deep impact on the state and country&34; s development using IT.

About
the Workshop:
Scilab is a free and open-source software for scientific computation developed by researchers in INRIA and ENPC, France from the year 1990 onwards. Scilab is often used for numerical analysis, statistical analysis, control systems design, digital signal processing, etc. Scilab provides a powerful and interactive environment with extensive mathematical capabilities, graphics and high-level programming language for rapid prototyping.
The workshop gives an exposition on how Scilab can be applied to solve various problems in scientific computing. All the sessions of the Workshop will include theoretical classes and hands-on training for learning the features and applications of Scilab.

Faculty:
The sessions in the Workshop will be handled by Prof. V. Sundarapandian, Director (Acting) of IIITM-K. Prof. V. Sundarapandian is a regular faculty at IIITM-K since Jan. 2007, Academic Convenor since May 2007 and Director of IIITM-K since Nov. 2008. He earned his D.Sc. from Washington University, St. Louis, USA. He is an active researcher in modern control systems. He has received numerous awards and honours for his work on nonlinear control systems. He has recently published on Scientific Computing titled Numerical Linear Algebra (Prentice Hall of India, 2008). He has given many special lectures, invited talks, Key-Note addresses on Control Systems and Computing at National Conferences, Workshops and UGC-sponsored workshops in India.

fee is waived for faculty from Kerala Government Colleges and Universities.

Demand Draft in favour of “Director, IIITM-K” payable at any nationalized bank in Trivandrum.Workshop fee covers admission to sessions, workshop kit, working lunch and tea. No TA/DA will be given to the participants. Participants are requested to make their own arrangements for accommodation and travel. Registration form along with the fee may be sent to Director.Number of seats is limited and shall be filled on first-come-first-serve basis.
