IIITMK has a coherent Servers Farm comprised of seven high-end servers and a CD-stack server with total capacity approaching a terabyte. It provides a wide variety of Intranet and Web space services. This server farm is accessible from anywhere facilitated by policy-based access mechanisms. Most of the services are accessible through 'My Desktop' and the dot NET Enterprise Servers and Linux Servers. We provide 24 hours Internet access to all the Students and Staff. All the students and the staff members also have E-mail Account under our Domain. The entire Policies, Procedures and User Information pertaining to Network Services is available on the Services Link under the Digital Library at the website http://www.iiitmk.ac.in/. IIITM-K is the Authorized Prometric Testing Centre, thus facilitating its students and professionals to appear in online Certification Examinations like IBM – DB2, VAJ, CISCO etcetera. Under the Institute the following services are available.
1. All students will become an authorized
user of IIITMK network services under IIITMK domain.
2. Each Student will get a user ID and mail ID by submitting a form to Network Administrator

By becoming a member, you will get the services of IIITM-K website, digital
library, access Information from server and different computers, software
etcetera.
4. Each student will get a personalized desktop under the IIITM-K website.
5.
Internet and some of the network services are available round the clock.
The first step in accessing different information, interaction and access
services is to login to "Desktop Services" account. You can enter your
customized "Desktop " using your valid institute email address and password.
IIITM-K members associated with the institutes may get their 'Desktop
Account' by joining/signing in. This request will in turn go to the Webadmin
for activation
Once logged in, 'Desktop Services'
becomes the complete single point entry to one's virtual office for all
work related to the institute and its services. This office can be accessed
by the valid user seamlessly from anywhere over the Web. The user may
work from office, home, or while on tour from wherever a Web access can
be made to the Institute's site.
The functionalities of the
Web based desktop includes policy and choice based information visibility,
Choice based News Headlines, alert mechanism to automate the workflow,
Community tools besides a single click access to all the other institutional
services like email, help etc. The strength of the Web based Desktop lies
in its scalability and extendibility. The present architecture supports
any other additional component, which helps in the managements of the
distributed information flow. Such components can very easily be configured
and integrated with the main system.

IIITM-K Digital Library has become
the first external member to the Indian National Digital Library in Science
and Technology (INDEST) Consortium setup by the Ministry of Human
Resource Development (MHRD), in the Kerala state.
Institutes Digital Library has large collections of e-journals, lecture notes, streamed video lectures-on-demand, of classes, seminars, and conference lectures. IIITM-K Multimedia Library, houses a galaxy of video lectures from eminent
faculties and industry experts on information technology related areas.
Classroom lectures, seminars, invited lectures of the Institute are digitized,
synchronized with presentation slides and made available through the online
multimedia library using advanced SMIL multimedia and streaming technologies.
All the lectures are available
round the clock in on demand
mode through streaming server. Users can view the multimedia lectures
along with the corresponding Power Point slides during the sequence of
the lecture. All the steps involved in capturing, encoding, synchronization
are in digital form using high-end digital equipments like digital camera,
DV interface capture card, high-end encoding/editing systems.
All the processes used in preparing lectures are latest technologies
like SMIL, video compression, streaming etc.
IIITM-K is also providing video capturing, editing facility to companies to create presentations for their use. Many organizations are benefited from this service to record important lecture sessions as well as training programs. IIITM-K is also providing consultancy services to setup cost effective lecture recording and editing facility for education institutions through its Education grid program. IIITM-K will provide full support to setup this facility in multimedia content creation for web-assisted courses.

Library hosts the lectures of prominent figures in the IT and Academic
fields including Dr. K. T. Chandy, Binghamton University, Dr. Kishore
S Trivedi, Duke University, Dr.Ganapathy (Secretary, Neurological Society
of India and Director - Telemedicine of Apollo Group), Mr M.G Sreekumar,
Librarian IIM Kozhikode, Dr. C. Pandurangan (Head computer sciences, IIT

The Authoring Wizard assists you in the process of creating a new course.
The Wizard suggests a course development strategy based on principles
of sound Instructional Design. If you are a registered user, you can store
your raw course content, work-in-progress and developed content in your
own private storage area allocated for you by the Wizard, or signup. IIITM-K
invites individual or group of Faculty anywhere interested in authoring
e-Books or e-Courseware in any subject to use its Online support for Authoring.
