Library Services

IIITMK has state of the art Digital Library Services. The 'Mu-Dil' Multimedia Digital Library(internal access), E-Resources Digital Library, E-journals Gateway, Digital Repository of Electronic Theses and Dissertations, E-pathrika Newspaper Portal, WebOPAC of Books, Journals, CD ROM, Library Blog etc form major components of this Online Library and Information Service. Digital Library has more than 1200 Hrs of Educational Videos, 100% digital collection of Reports, over 12,000 free/Open Source Software, thousands of e-journals etc. IIITMK Library is an initial member in Indian National Digital Library in Engineering, Science & Technology Consortium, set up by the Govt. of India. More than 50 libraries across the country have benefited from IIITMK Library in establishing advanced Information services. More than 75 Library professionals have undergone the training organised by the Digital Library Division. Library also offers Internship programe for the Fresh Library Science Graduates. Digital Library division has been doing R&D on GenIsisWeb Technology, ABCD, Wink, and Web2.0 tools for Web based Information Services. In Asia-Pacific Region, IIITMK Librarian is Coordinating the development and application of the Open Source Library Automation Software called ABCD developed by BIREME, Brazil in association with UNESCO.
