Abstract:

Software protection demands high priority in the current digitalized
world. One of the techniques used for software protection is software
code obfuscation. In this talk we introduce the concept of software
obfuscation, its relevance and the classifications. Further, some of
the machine level software reverse engineering techniques and the
protection mechanisms against those using code obfuscation will be
discussed.

About the speaker:

Vivek Balachandran did his B.Tech and M.Tech in Computer Science from
Govt. Engg  Thrissur and NIT Calicut respectively. He worked as a
embedded software engineer in the R&D section of inDSP Audio
Technologies Pvt. Ltd for a year. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student at
the  School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University,
Singapore. His area of research is Software Protection Techniques
