Computer vision and machine learning techniques find immense applications in cybersecurity and digital forensics. Computer vision has its applications in many cybersecurity domains such as biometrics, steganography, video surveillance, image and video forensics and so on. Machine learning techniques find applications in malware detection, network intrusion detection, automated cyber attack prediction and so on. However, the relationships between computer vision, digital forensics and machine learning techniques have not been explored much. The workshop CIFor’18 aims to fill this gap by bringing industry experts as well as academicians to a single platform for imparting knowledge on the latest computer vision, machine learning, and cyber forensics techniques. The workshop includes hands-on training on software exploitation techniques as well as machine learning, pattern recognition and deep learning for computer vision applications using MATLAB. This workshop will also be a great opportunity to learn about hunting bugs and vulnerabilities in systems and networks.
The workshop, CIFor’18, is a joint effort of the Center for Research and Innovation in Cyber Threat Resilience (CRICTR) under Kerala State Planning Board and Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). CIFor’18 will be held at IIITM-K, Technopark, Trivandrum on September 7&8, 2018.
